Volunteers are a vital part of Te Omanga enabling us to provide quality services free of charge. Every year volunteers provide over $800,000 dollars worth of services to the hospice. 
Co-ordination of volunteer services at Te Omanga Hospice involves recruitment, interviewing, orientation, placement and recognition and support of volunteer workers throughout the hospice. All Te Omanga Hospice volunteers receive orientation and training facilitated by the hospice Education Director.
We require all sorts of volunteers at Te Omanga, including gardeners, housekeepers, drivers, day-centre helpers, fundraisers, flower arrangers, shop assistants, family supporters, receptionists, street day collectors and biographers. All voluntary positions have a job description so that volunteers are clear about what is expected.
Te Omanga Hospice is very lucky to have extremely loyal volunteers, many of whom have held their positions long term. However, we are always in need of new volunteers, and would be very pleased to hear from you if you are able to help in any of the following ways:
