SOCIAL WORKER (PART TIME)
Te Omanga Hospice provides specialist palliative care to people in the Hutt Valley through a multi disciplinary team approach.
An opportunity has arisen for a qualified Social Worker, preferably with palliative care experience to join our very special Family Support Team to work one day per week (Thursdays). The primary purpose of this position is to provide psychosocial and emotional support through practical information, advice and liaison and to advocate on behalf of the patient and family.
You will need a qualification in human or social services, a clear understanding and empathy for Hospice philosophy, mission, values and aims and experience in a health care setting. Ideally you will have experience with terminally ill people and their families across cultural, age and socio-economic groups.

Advisory Group Roles
Te Omanga Hospice has established a project team to design a model of integrated palliative care for the Hutt Valley. The project team need an Advisory Board to review the model design and to monitor the implementation of an integrated model of care.
Te Omanga is calling for nominations from people interested in shaping the future model of palliative care delivery in the Hutt Valley.
