Payroll Giving is an easy way to give money to charity. By donating an amount regularly from your pay, you are not only helping others, but you receive an immediate tax credit for your donations instead of having to retain receipts and wait until the end of the tax year to claim the rebate.
Tax credits for payroll donations are calculated at 33.33 cents for each dollar donated, which is deducted from your PAYE. This means that if you give $10 you will only be contributing $6.67 from your net pay, with the remainder coming from the tax that you would otherwise pay.
For employers that offer it, Payroll Giving involves little administration work.
