Hospice Awareness Week 2021 Post Cover Image

Many people are not aware of the services hospice provides until they need them. There is often a mistaken belief that hospice is a “place you go to die.” We know hospice care is much more than this!

Te Omanga Hospice helps people live well and with dignity and compassion at the end of life. We care for people’s physical, emotional, spiritual, social, psychological and cultural wellbeing. Our care and support is available to people with terminal or life limiting illnesses, including their families and whānau, whenever and wherever they need it – at home, in our Inpatient Unit, at a Residential Care Facility, at Hutt Hospital, or in partnership with their GP.

While our services are free to those in need, it does cost us to provide them. Each year we need to raise nearly $3 million to bridge the gap between Government funding and what it costs to run our service on a day-to-day basis.

Our Annual Street Appeal is from 27 – 29 May. Donate online to help keep our services free to the Hutt Valley community. Thank you for your support!
