Te Omanga Hospice provides specialist nursing, medical care and family support to help patients suffering from cancer and other terminal illnesses.
We work closely with you and your family to control pain and other symptoms you may be experiencing to enable you and your family/whānau to make the most of life. Our approach is holistic. Our team recognises that you may need help with many things – both physical and emotional.
Our specialist Palliative Care is delivered by an experienced Multidisciplinary Team who become familiar with the background and present needs of a patient and their family. We work together with your GP and other health professionals involved in your care to make sure you have access to advice and support 24 hours a day.
Te Omanga Hospice provides care at home, in the hospice or in Residential Care according to the needs of the patient and family. Simply put, we provide care wherever you are.
Te Omanga Hospice services are free to those who need them but it does cost to deliver them. Our contract with local DHBs covers $6.5 million of our costs per annum, with the balance of around $2 million funded by our generous community.
