Our Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do at Te Omanga. They are an integral part of the valuable service we provide to all our patients and families.
A team of over 500 Volunteers ensures Te Omanga can continue to provide a quality, free of charge service.
Together with the medical and clinical teams, our Volunteers give joyfully of their time and expertise to ensure you and your family are cared for and supported in a warm and friendly environment.
Many of our Volunteers have been with us for more than 10 years and we are always looking for more people. The Volunteer positions at Te Omanga cover a wide range of skill sets and there are many opportunities for you to be involved. All voluntary positions come with a Position Description so you are clear about your role and what is expected of you. You will also receive orientation and training facilitated by the hospice Education Coordinator.
Volunteer positions working from 136 Woburn Road or directly with patients and whanau are required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 under the Governments Covid-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021. You will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated at your interview or prior to starting your position.
