Te Omanga is set in two acres of extensive garden. This peaceful sanctuary is filled with native trees, roses, fragrant flowers, fresh vegetables, and the occasional sculpture.  This is a place to reflect, to be with family and whānau and enjoy the tranquility of nature.

Children are welcome to play on the lawns or simply sit and read under one of our lovely trees.

Fresh vegetables are used in the delicious meals prepared at the hospice and many of the flowers are used in the beautiful floral arrangements you can see throughout the building.

“I always enjoy my gardening sessions.  The team members are a friendly, happy bunch.”

Our team of Gardener Volunteers take a great deal of pride in creating this space for patients, their families, whānau, and visitors. They mow lawns, weed, sweep, and plant, so the gardens may be enjoyed by all.

Our Volunteer Services Team is happy to talk with you if you are interested in finding out more about how you can help. Please call Rachel on 04 974 8121 or email
